Essay / Achievements of Albert Einstein - 1149
This is the year when Einstein published visionary works, a well-known one of which is the Theory of Relativity (Doc). Einstein developed this theory on a bus in Burns, Switzerland. He imagines the bus traveling at close to the speed of light, as it reaches the speed of light he notices that the hands of the clock tower in the distance seemed frozen. This leads to the idea that space and time are deeply intertwined. The incredible thing is that Einstein wasn't even a scientist at this point. He would develop a total of 4 theories, but he would come up against hundreds of years of established science and repackaging would not be easy. It will take him almost a decade before he can prove all his theories, nothing will stop him from achieving his goal, not even the First World War. He developed a new understanding of gravity, one in which space and time are malleable. He would try to prove this by taking a photo of the stars near the sun, but only during a total solar eclipse, in order to see the light bend. He accomplished this feat, but not before years of missed eclipses and cross-country chases that his fellow scientists endured, one of whom became a prisoner of war to help Einstein's cause. It is truly amazing how an unknown person questioned established theories only to disprove them and breathe new life into them..
