The effectiveness of the PPE program will be monitored through inspection of equipment and periodic verification of procedures to review, update, evaluate and access the effectiveness of the PPE program (CCOHS, 2016). Changes in legislative requirements, new information on hazard properties, and changes in the process itself are circumstances that can invalidate parts of a written program or render it obsolete (Nims, 1999). Internal audits will be conducted annually, while external audits will be conducted every three years for overall program review. Critical areas of concern that require immediate action will be reviewed frequently (CCOHS, 2016). When changes occur in the work process, a reported PPE failure or the introduction of new PPE, the program will be reviewed.
