Cowspiracy - Study Questions Azha Aslam1. This statement on “Cowspiracy” shows how animal agriculture is a neglected factor in many environmental problems. This shows us how breeding animals and raising them for the human population leads to deforestation and water consumption, to name a few. What is most surprising is that this is not recognized as a significant factor in these environmental problems, even though it clearly is. I feel like I have been misled by those who try to sweep this under the rug and pretend that the problems associated with it don't exist. I feel cheated knowing that no matter how hard I try to help the planet, my contributions are completely unacceptable and distrusted by environmental activists and organizations, such as Greenpeace, who avoid viewing animal agriculture as a very serious health problem. of our planet. These organizations do not want to talk and publicize anything related to the issue of animal agriculture because they care more about their own sustainability than that of the Earth. They say, “[we] don’t like to dictate people’s behavior”; However, it should be noted that informing and instructing are two very different things. I think Anderson is definitely brave and courageous for venturing into the mysteries behind the strange perspectives people have on the animal agriculture industry. As soon as he was faced with resistance to what he was trying to do, instead of backing down, he pushed forward and that's pretty bold. He was also warned several times that what he was doing was dangerous and that he should think very carefully before continuing with the film. It's all about how you handle adversity and Anderson is surely very good at that. I think if I had been put in his place, without great motivation, I would not have been able to do what he did. He had a plan and stuck to it until the end and until he was satisfied. Additionally, a factor that may have led to his decision was how he was personally affected because he was unaware of the impacts of the animal agriculture industry. He certainly also felt cheated because he wasn't. I think what's important is to inform as many people as possible and they will make some sort of change. Whether it's simply being more conscious of the amount of meat and dairy they consume or becoming vegetarian or vegan. The problem is that food is a big part of most Canadians' day, and meat is a big part of that for many of us as well. and it is simply not possible to get rid of it overnight. Plus, many businesses thrive on meat-based foods and won't be too happy about everyone becoming vegetarian. These companies also hold significant power over our society, so they have the power to easily influence people to continue eating meat. What's important at this point is to constantly remind people where their meat comes from and the effects this process has on our planet. With this I think people will become more aware and slowly start controlling what they eat, small steps are needed, it won't happen overnight. I think any sane person would want to make a change, it's of course easier said than done, like many things. We all wish we didn't have this problem in the first place and hope someone finds a way
