Essay / About yourself: my life path
I was born on June 4, 1967. Growing up under the care of my grandmother, I learned a lot from her. “Joelina, always give your extra toys to those who don’t have any,” my graying grandmother always insisted, in her high-pitched voice. This, and other things my grandmother did, instilled in me a rare sense of caring and philanthropy that has greatly influenced my life. She always told me that if I didn't take good care of my things, other people who needed them the most would get them. It filled my childhood with moral lessons: helping those in need and, better still, taking good care of what you have. I didn't know that my life was already taking shape and that a clear framework for my future profession was well mapped out. Say no to plagiarism. I was admitted to ESL classes and remember receiving an award for English writing and reading during the first year. This significantly strengthened my vision and personal ambition to “soar to the skies”. My goal to grow professionally, as well as serve the community and those less fortunate, has grown even more. Having been born and raised in a family of inspiring and motivating people, the main family values I learned were generosity, hard work and honesty. By emulating my family's character and habits, I developed a passion for serving the less fortunate in my community. As I recall, people in our community sometimes called our family the “Mother Teresa family” because of our generosity and acts of mercy. Over time, I became more and more passionate about serving people. In the same spirit of community service, I frequently volunteered in different places and served generously. During my work, I did not realize that the experience I had gained would one day be a stepping stone on my path to success. After finishing high school, I continued to volunteer with different organizations, especially those dealing with humanitarian aid. I used to work, or rather live my life, with one vision: to help society. Interestingly and unusual in recruiting practice at one of New York's top hospitals, I was hired without a bachelor's degree. Getting a job at this hospital was one of the greatest achievements of my life. How come they hired me without a bachelor's degree? Well, they noticed that my passion for helping people was so intense that they thought I was more valuable than other, more qualified people. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity they gave me, considering the impact helping and being with everyone at the hospital has had on my life. Since then, I've had some incredible experiences doing things I love; I studied liberal arts at Kingsborough Community College, became a member of the National Hispanic Nursing Association, and obtained a position at New York Presbyterian Hospital where I served as a nursing research specialist. talents. Through my experience and leadership positions, I have learned that a leader must work naturally and harmoniously with people, serve them and help them. Keep in mind: this is just a sample.
