Analytical PaperWhen looking to improve leadership skills, it is important to immerse yourself in concepts that foster an environment conducive to high-performance teams. Two of these concepts were discussed at length: conflict resolution and team building. This essay will discuss the importance of these ideas as they relate to leadership and what future leaders can learn. Second, which of the topic's readings creates the "best" model of effective leadership within an organization? Finally, what impact can we expect on the organization if these ideas are not implemented? All these are pertinent questions to be answered by those who aspire to become great leaders. There are several areas of concern when discussing leadership characteristics. One of these areas is directly related to conflict. Every organization will experience conflict. It is up to leaders to resolve conflicts that may have a negative impact on organizations. In conclusion, future leaders will discover that conflict resolution and effective team building are important factors in building a successful organization. There are important lessons to be learned from reading Dealing with Conflict and The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. The best model of organizational leadership should default to the latter, for lack of a clear definition in the former, but that does not detract from its importance. If there is a lesson to be learned, it is that these examples can answer very relevant questions and ignoring them would be detrimental to an organization and its leader..
