    The long essays were harder than the DBQs, and I figured it out around the middle of the school year. The DBQs were not as difficult as the long essays because the DBQs gave you vague information about the topic based on the materials provided about the prompt. In a long essay, there is only one prompt and it requires using outside knowledge to support your claim when you write at least 4 or 5 paragraphs in about 45 minutes. My first long essay wasn't the best, but I had to finish it. One thing I always remembered when writing an assignment for that history class was the feedback I received on previous assignments. The choice of words, too vague, more detailed, good analysis, etc. were comments I usually received on long essays. This feedback is what allowed me to grow not only in the classroom but also as a writer. As the course progressed, the feedback I received was increasingly positive, with some grammatical errors.
