Essay / Abortion: a rational look at an emotional issue
Is abortion the solution to getting rid of a child you cannot care for, for whatever reason? Abortion is defined as a surgical method used to terminate a pregnancy, especially during the first six months. In my opinion, abortion is not the solution. There are other options than killing a human being who hasn't lived for days or even months. Pro-life literally means “for life,” which is not how many people see things these days. Normally, people choose to be pro-choice, meaning, “everyone has the choice to have an abortion or not because it’s their life.” Obviously, I don't see it that way. A life is a life, whether it lasts five seconds or five years, and to me, that's murder. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are, whether it's rape, willpower, etc. I don't think abortion should be legal. Also, I realize that after being raped or something, it would definitely be difficult to babysit by someone you: don't know, love, and/or have willingly had sex, but then again, just like you didn't ask to be raped, the baby didn't ask to be made, but it was. There are many methods of abortion that have emerged over the centuries, but most were very dangerous and some inhumane. There are only two legal methods of abortion in the United States: "in-clinic" abortion and the "abortion pill." There are several methods of in-clinic abortion, but the most common is called "aspiration" (i.e. vacuum aspiration). This method involves using a handheld suction device that empties the uterus and sometimes also uses a curette to remove any residue. tissue remaining in the uterus. It is generally only used up to sixteen weeks after a woman's last period. "Compose a... middle of paper......to save the mother's life. "The court ruled that states are prohibited from banning or regulating any aspect of abortion performed during the trimester of pregnancy". Roe was decided, most states restricted the practice of abortion. These restrictions were challenged during the sexual revolution of the 1960s. Apparently, abortions are a woman's private life , the decision is therefore a fundamental right of women A rational look at an emotional problem By: RC SproulChoice: True stories of birth, contraception, infertility, adoption, single parenthood and abortion By: Karen E.
