  • Essay / My opinion on Full Metal Jacket - 963

My opinion on Full Metal Jacket In Stanley Kubrick's film Full Metal Jacket, the focus is on the carnage of the training camp and the life of the soldier in Vietnam. The life of a soldier is not easy, as it requires great diligence and sacrifice to ensure the safety and freedom of all those who fear and those who seek it. Stanley Kubrick ensures that we see the harshness and ugliness of the Vietnam War as it was created to be seen. The film begins with boot camp life, preparing marines to be sent and fight in Vietnam. The relationship between Private Joker and Private Pyle comes to light when Drill Sergeant Hartman makes Private Joker the squad leader. Private Joker must make sure Gomer Pyle cleans up his act and puts an end to the burdens Pyle has placed on the entire team. Although Private Joker does his best to clean up Private Pyle's mess, he has met his match and ultimately views Pyle as trouble. During the scene where everyone on the team prepares to beat Pyle with bars of soap wrapped in towels, it shows that Private Joker is somewhat hesitant at first, but eventually hits Private Pyle several times. repeated with violent blows. Analyzing the relationship between the two soldiers, we can say that Private Joker was trying to help Private Pyle as much as he could, until Private Pyle suddenly broke and it was clear that Private Pyle talks to himself as he cleans his rifle. Yes, boot camp can be hell for those who are psychologically unfit and unable to cope with periods of great stress, and this can often cause some people to "crack". Stanley Kubrick does a great job focusing on the stress of boot camp, especially since it is a war time and thousands of...... middle of paper ...... of Young American men had to endure from that time on. they had returned to the days of their training camp and the brutality of war that showed them no mercy. For me, the importance of the film was to show what really happened in Vietnam through the eyes of a soldier, because the film created a very disturbing but real picture of the Vietnam War. To me, it was a very disturbing yet real image of the Vietnam War. great movie; Stanley Kubrick did a wonderful job producing Full Metal Jacket. Watching the beginning of the film until the very end, the way Kubrick captured everything, it seems like he captured how the marines had to defeat their superior during boot camp and ultimately overcome their fears at Vietnam. Rating this film as it depicts the hardships that marines have to endure and life in Vietnam from a sailor's perspective should be a rating of 8/10, this is definitely a bravo film..
