Essay / Does Justice Always Prevail - 1163
Everyone has their own opinion on what is right, but what does that really mean? The dictionary definition of justice is fairness. Something may be unfair to a person, but fair to a society. This is exactly what we thought at the time of the McCarthy trials. The same thing happened in the play The Crucible, where there was no real evidence to determine what was right. In my life, there have been times when the outcome was not fair. Does justice always prevail? This means: does fairness still exist? There are many situations in everyone's life in which justice does not prevail. My brother once had to look after the dog. My parents wanted me to watch him, but I was busy. My brother then decides to sit on the couch and watch TV. It irritated me that he was lounging around doing nothing. Our dog, Jack, was running around the house. He spills a cup. My brother didn't seem to notice. Jack then begins to scratch the windows. My brother turned up the volume on the television. Jack starts crying for food. I decided to bring Jack some food to keep him quiet. I was very busy that day with my homework, but I decided to help Jack. My brother didn't even notice I was helping Jack. Then Jack had to go to the bathroom. I asked David, but David didn't want to bring Jack outside. I decided to take Jack outside while David had to watch TV. I've been looking at Jack all day. I felt like I had to do everything, even if it wasn't my responsibility. After a few hours of caring for Jack, my parents called and told me they were coming home. David quickly turned off the television. They praised David for doing a wonderful job taking care of Jack, even though I was the one doing everything. I didn't want to seem possessive so... middle of paper ... they should say someone else was guilty. This involved “The Crucible” and the McCarthy trials. Many people died in both cases. Even though it was proven that some of the defendants were actually spies during the McCarthy trials, many innocent people were fired from their jobs. There was injustice here, but sometimes the right thing happened. How do you know what's happening when something happens? You can't predict the exact outcome, so you go with what you think is right. This may not be, according to the company, the best decision. These three examples prove that there are times when justice does not always prevail. The truth is that justice will not always prevail. Sometimes people make a bad decision. The important thing is that you always see how you can achieve the best result. Justice does not always prevail, so we can only try to make the right decision.
