  • Essay / Paul Is Dead - 993

Ask anyone “Do you know who Paul McCartney is?” ” and their answer would most likely be “Yes”. Ask anyone: "Did you know that Paul McCartney died in a car accident on November 9, 1966 and that the 'Paul' alive today is actually his replacement?" and their response would be to run in the opposite direction. As ridiculous as it sounds, many people wouldn't run in the opposite direction. The McCartney "death and replacement" rumor began in 1969, and it is now widely known as the "Paul is Dead" conspiracy theory. "Paul Is Dead" theorists claim that the other Beatles covered up McCartney's death by replacing him with a man who looked exactly like the deceased Beatle, but once guilt took hold of them, they began inserting hints of the cover-up in their songs and artwork. Campbell's appearance matched that of the late Beatle, but his musical style or personality certainly did not. La Bea...... middle of paper...... They believe it depicts him holding a nail from McCartney's coffin, and they sort of see it as him saying "Yeah, I buried Paul McCartney, but it doesn't matter because I'm Paul McCartney now." If the "Paul is Dead" theorists are right about McCartney's death in 1966, then "Faul" is still with us today. four children with his late wife, Linda Eastman, and produced more than twenty solo albums – not to mention those released by the band he formed after the Beatles broke up, Wings.
