To prepare to become a pediatrician, you need to be a patient person because this job is not as easy as other jobs. There is so much to prepare for before becoming a pediatrician. In high school, biology, chemistry, physics, and physiology are important science courses that you should take to prepare for this career. English, foreign languages and speech only improve your communication skills when talking to patients. Psychology is not essential, but it helps to understand others better and is also beneficial. You must be certified by the American Board of Paramedics. All physicians must be licensed to practice in the United States. To become licensed, doctors must pass a state exam given by their state's board of medical examiners. You have a lot of certifications and training ahead before you can get this position. When I'm a senior, I plan to visit medical schools to see what they have to offer me. Before doing all this, you must have experience working with children.
