Great in fame and content, the Iliad has been used as an early historical text, philosophical writing, and storybook. Historians use it to tell the story of an era. Philosophers use it as one of the bases of human thought. For children, it is a wonderful story of battles between men and their gods. It is a writing with multiple uses. One of the uses of the Iliad is that it is an illustration of humanity. It is an illustration that the life of a man or woman exists in conflict. The Iliad illustrates that it is human nature to create and live with conflict, whether by choice or not, in order to have a purpose in life. Mankind creates conflicts by means of external and internal struggles, conflicts in the ideas he himself created, conflicts in love and even in times of peace man creates conflicts. In terms of external struggles, humanity creates its own external conflicts to achieve conflict resolution. a current problem if a peaceful solution cannot be found. In the Iliad, the war between the Achaeans and the Trojans began after Helen left with Paris for Troy. The fight for Helen between two men turned into a war between two civilizations. Menelao's feelings for Helen did not allow him to let her go without problem. Instead, he and Agamemnon rallied the entire Achaean civilization to fight Troy to bring back Helen and her riches. No peaceful solution was found before the war began. Paris would not return Hélène. To resolve these troubles, war was started. A famous comedian, Martin Lawrence, was quoted as saying: "Can't we all just get... middle of paper...... America has jobs that keep them working from nine a.m. to five o'clock in the afternoon. It's called the Rat Race, and to many, it doesn't seem like a very meaningful life to lead. There is always the eternal question that arises throughout time: what makes a good life? Whether you have riches or live poor but happy, you have problems. Whether you've made a difference in the world as a scientist or lived a peaceful life in the countryside, you've had your share of conflicts. Whether people encourage or discourage conflicts and problems, they exist. Conflicts can range from participating in a war against a dictator to deciding who is the right man or woman for one's affections. It is human nature to create conflict, whether by choice or with the help of fate. Thus, conflict must then exist as an essential part of humanity's very existence..
