INTRODUCTIONThis module expands our understanding of how buildings are constructed and the purpose of choosing materials and structures for buildings. This module is divided into investigation, structure, materials and construction. These are taught specifically through lectures, guided exercises, drawings and laboratory testing workshops. The lectures were an explanation of the topics in which our knowledge was put into practice by solving and experimenting with questions in tutorials and workshops. At the end of the year, we have gained great knowledge about the content of this module by participating in this structured sequence of learning and understanding in workshops and tutorials.CHAPTER 1-INVESTIGATIONWhat is a land survey and why is it important at the start of a project?A land survey is a detailed inspection and physical extension of boundary lines. It is important from the start of a project that buyers know the precise boundaries of the land; it also identifies easements associated with the property and issues associated with the land. Explain the techniques, equipment and processes involved in carrying out a survey. This investigation involves the process of leveling which is the calculation between the height differences of two or more points. The equipment used is a tripod, a level and a stick. These are installed by first untying the straps of a tripod in which the legs are extended until head height is a little below the top platform. This must be firmly fixed to the ground to avoid errors; walking on the leg platform does this. The legs are modified until they are all approximately the same height and the leg screws are completed. Using the screw located under the tripod, the level is fixed. ...... middle of paper ...... results can be drawn from it. Thus reducing annual heating costs. CONCLUSION Conclude the report with a brief statement of personal reflection explaining the relevance of the investigation, structures, materials, testing and details in the context of completing a specification. From this report, it is clear that a series of steps must be taken to construct or renovate a building. First, a problem is defined and, in order to understand, this information is collected through a survey. Once the survey has been carried out, the structures are determined. After calculating the loads, the dimensions of the structural elements are calculated. Materials are tested before being used in actual structures, creating a safer structure. When everything is in place, the structure is built. In conclusion, this report shows that various factors contribute to the context of a specification.
