In professional communication, messages are transmitted using several types of media, including the Internet, radio, podcasts, and television. In the video, a German coast guard trainee receives an urgent message from a ship. The ship's occupants speak English and report that the ship is sinking. The German intern responds by saying, “Why are you sinking?” » The video ends with a message that says: “Improve your English.” The video highlights a potentially dangerous situation, but it draws the audience's attention to the real message of the video: know English! Overall Impression Using humor in communication can help express ideas and leave a lasting impression on an audience. After watching the video “German Coast Guard Lost in Translation” once, I was able to retain the gist of the video. The humor combined with the final punchline made the video very effective and memorable. In addition to humor, the director used a combination of music, earth...... middle of paper ...... research and reception of information. There are several different methods of communication, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, although verbal communication may be more personal, it leaves room for misinterpretation. In this sense, written communication is more concrete and can be reread by employees who were not aware of certain details. However, verbal communication, especially face-to-face, has the advantage of body language and can help make meaning clearer, even when there is a language barrier. Even though the director of the "German Coast Guard - Lost in Translation" has done an excellent job in using different elements to convey his message, there are still areas where improvements could be made to increase the effectiveness of a message. Learning to communicate effectively can bring many benefits, many of which can lead to a successful business career..
