If a person has never suffered from a migraine, it is difficult to understand. Migraines are more than just a headache and can affect many areas of a person's life. Migraines have played a significant role in how I live each day, how I feel, and how I interact with the people in my life. Migraines have affected my professional life and had a major influence on my personality, not to mention the impact they had on my finances. Migraines have had an effect on the way I accomplish my daily tasks. Painful migraines cause me many problems when I am at work, not allowing me to perform at 100% of my abilities. Most of the time I have some sort of annoying headache that sits behind my eye. This discomfort requires a constant effort to focus on my work and not on the irritating fluttering behind my eyes. However, this irritation is not the problem. It is the migraine that visits me at least once a week and its events prefiguring the attack. My neck stiffens, giving me the first hint of what's about to happen. Neck pain triggers some anxiety because I know explosive pain is coming.
