  • Essay / The difference in inequality between women and men...

Without women, the eradication and extinction of our entire race would be inevitable. Women carry our children for nine painful and excruciating months to ensure the survival of the human race. Yes, women have been helping the world since the dawn of time; but are we really paying them back for everything they do? Women now make up an overwhelming 46 percent of the workforce, but are they treated the same as their male cohorts? Unfortunately, even though women do so much for our species and the world as a whole, they are still not treated the same or considered to be on the same level as their male counterparts because they are identified as a threat. It is sad that we will forever owe a debt to women, but we do nothing to honor this debt. The difference in inequality between women and men is clearly present in today's job market. By calculating the earnings of men and women directly associated with the labor market, it was shown that women earn only 69.6 cents of every dollar earned by men (English). This in turn leads to more women earning an annual salary below $15,000, but only 1.3 percent of men manage to fall into this category (English). To make the difference between women and men even more stark, the average annual salary for all American workers has been shown to be between $25,000 and $49,999. This range is considered the best for women; only 9.6 percent of women earn more than $50,000 a year. In contrast, 44.5 percent of men work to earn more than $50,000 a year (English). The range of men who are considered the lowest of the low, even peons; is practically the pinnacle of women. The principles of this world believe that a woman's work has less value than middle of paper... where a level close to that of men is unacceptable. Our nation has recovered through many struggles over many years, such as that of slavery. Yet after accomplishing such a feat, we somehow find another group to treat terribly. The fact that women are mistreated is ridiculous and shameful. Women control our entire existence. If all women decided to unite and stop having children, it would surely be the end of the human race. Given the way women are treated, it is surprising to say the least that this is not yet the case. How can we treat the very beings who keep us alive and healthy the way we do? Things must change in the near future if we are to grow, prosper and survive. It's time we defend the feminine gender. Challenge the world. Go out and petition for women's rights. Show everyone that we truly care about the sole providers of the human race.
