  • Essay / Animals in captivity - 1486

I admit that I am guilty. I am guilty of supporting these shameful prisons where people held captive are sometimes kidnapped and forced to entertain us. I didn't support them because I wanted to or because I thought it was right, but because I was ignorant and didn't know the truth. In fact, at some point in our lives, we are all guilty of it. Appearances can be deceiving. At first glance, we would never think that these places are horrible, but in reality, they are. I'm talking about zoos, aquariums, marine parks and circuses. All these places are just another form of prison. The only difference between this prison and other prisons is that the prisoners have done nothing to deserve to be there, they are all innocent. I visited a zoo and a circus, which made me guilty, so it is my responsibility to inform you of what really goes on behind closed doors. Let's start with zoos, where animals are kept in cages or large enclosures for public viewing. Millions of people visit zoos thinking the animals are happy, when in reality they are unhappy. You can try to replicate enclosure of animals in their natural habitat, but they can never replace their habitat. An animal rights organization states: “Animals are often prevented from doing many of the things that are natural and important to them, such as running, moving, flying, climbing, foraging, choosing a mate, and being with other people of their kind. » (PETA). Although it is claimed that zoos "help" these animals, this is not really the case, rather it is a collection of different animals in order to show off to the public and make money from it. 'money. People are starting to believe that it is okay to keep these wild animals in captivity and let their lives be controlled by someone else. Ano...... middle of paper......one behind iron bars and caged doors. The truth can be a little overwhelming, it's plain and simple, wild animals don't should not be kept in captivity. With all this research and information about what really goes on behind closed doors, it's hard to believe that some people, aware of what's really going on, continue to support these programs. It is not morally correct to take advantage of a being incapable of defending itself for the sake of humanity. We have no right to do such a thing because we are all the same, and by virtue of all that we are just another set of bones to rest. If we don't hold our fellow human beings captive and force them to entertain themselves, why do we do it to animals? What if the roles were reversed and we were defenseless? Say what you want, ultimately keeping wild animals in captivity is wrong and needs to be stopped..
