    Introduction It's 2013, so it's no surprise that the general public uses technology for the majority of our daily lives. We use it for entertainment, business and everyday communication. We also use it to stay in touch with family, friends and old acquaintances. Technology has been particularly beneficial in the workplace. Telecommuting and teleconferencing are just a few alternatives to the old face-to-face business relationships. This, along with the rise of various social media sites over the past decade, has shaped the modern business world. Through these sites, people can immediately share their interests, opinions, life events, and random daily activities. With the rapid growth of social media, the amount of information circulating in cyberspace has become more difficult to contain and protect. For many, privacy is now considered a lost concept. Social media has also become an important tool to use in business and recruitment processes. In the minds of human resources departments around the world, social media sites can be considered a useful one-stop shop for determining whether or not a candidate is ideal for a job. Sites like Facebook, for example, can provide employers with insight into a potential employee's hobbies with just a few clicks. A little research can bring to light violent tendencies or a history with former bosses, supervisors, and others in higher positions.
