Western Oregon UniversityWestern Oregon University is an accredited university located in Monmouth, Oregon. The university has approximately 6,200 undergraduate students and approximately 400 graduate students. Their four main majors include business/marketing, education, interdisciplinary studies, and psychology. About 11 percent of students major in education. About 70 percent of first-year students return for second year, giving them a good retention rate. 46 percent of their students graduate within 6 years. This seemingly small campus has a student/faculty ratio of 20:1. Minimum admission requirements are a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and a score of at least 1000 is strongly recommended. For students like me who have taken or are taking an Advanced Placement course, Western Oregon University will accept grades of 3, 4, or 5 depending on the Advanced Placement course. Tuition for an enrolled student is $8,274 and an estimated total of $21,838 for students planning to live on campus. Fortunately, the average financial aid is $9,607. Western Oregon University offers a wide variety of activities. Their theater programs, choirs, musical theater, and campus ministries seem interesting and exciting to me. I think it would be really cool to get involved in different arts while I'm in college. Another program I found interesting was their TV channel. It would be fun to be a part of that and see what it was like to act and perform for television. I found it very interesting that Western Oregon has different sports clubs such as women's rowing, water polo, table tennis, and skiing. I am very interested in specializing in primary education. I have heard a plethora of people say that Western Oregon has one of the best education programs... middle of paper ...... it has been said to be like a " high school too expensive. They didn't like education or teachers. Many people have said that given the high price you pay to attend Linfield College, it's not really worth it. Others, however, found it a great experience. Many people have said that the small school helped you develop close friendships. It's also a great place if you want to spend some face-to-face time with your professor or dean. Many also said that McMinnville is a quaint town with usually something to do. They suggested having a car since most things will be far away or at least a bike. I have always loved McMinnville and loved spending my summers there with my aunt and uncle. I will continue to study Linfield and see if it suits me. I would like to know more about their study program and scholarships.: 1,870
