  • Essay / Argument Against Religion - 2136

The points he makes are very valid and worth considering even by a religious person, because what assurance do we have that there is a God? Some people talk about miracles, that the human body works in miraculous ways and the Bible tells them it exists. In the end, there is no concrete evidence to prove anything. The problem I have with Maher is the way he tries to prove his theory of religion. This was unsuccessful because instead of actually wanting to know the truth, he focused more on mocking religious people. One way he does this is by cutting off explanations to people, laughing hysterically in their faces, and putting sarcastic comments on screen while people talk belittling their thoughts. For someone like Maher who doesn't believe in religion, he is also arrogant about it and refuses to see things from other people's perspectives. This all shows that he is biased because nothing they say can change his mind, he believes what he wants to believe and everyone should.
