    In all of literature, William Shakespeare has become one of the most recognized and beloved writers of all time. With over 38 famous works under his name, Shakespeare has retained both legitimacy and relevance to this day. One of the reasons Shakespeare has maintained his fame and influence is the multitude of adaptations that many have made from his works. Whether it's a play with a modern take on Romeo and Juliet or an animated take on Hamlet where the characters are placed in futuristic robotic suits; The messages and themes written by the bard have transcended both the eras in which they were written and the media in which the works are presented. As new mediums of entertainment come to fruition, it's inevitable to see someone adapt Shakespeare for that medium. One of the means of entertainment that has grown significantly in popularity in recent history is video games (or interactive storytelling). In recent years, interactive storytelling has increasingly been seen as a new art form, bringing out a new sense of immersion that has not been seen in any other medium before. What was previously considered a medium solely intended to entertain children and inspire massacres; is now recognized as a new medium that encourages character development and storytelling using choice in games. With new measures in video games that focus more on artistic value rather than mindless entertainment, some games are taking inspiration from the works of Shakespeare. However, due to the young age of the medium, there are few adaptations of Shakespeare's works in games. Partly because it's often seen by the gaming public as something outside of their circles and rarely sparks any interest. However, like the medicine...... middle of paper......
