His clothing initially led me to believe that he was middle class, however, I then took into account the information around him. I saw him at the university center and assumed he was a student. If he were lower class and close to poverty, he probably wouldn't attend college, not even community college. It brought me closer to the middle class. Finally, I focused on his physical appearance. He was white, in his early twenties and in pretty good shape. This fits perfectly with my idea of the middle class. Overall, these three things led me to believe that he was lower middle class. The second person I analyzed was a woman from the Nickelodeon universe. Again, I focused on their appearance, environment, and characteristics. She was wearing a plain t-shirt, sweatpants, and a very bland, large handbag. His clothes were either suggestive of lower class or simply more casual. As in the previous case, its environment and characteristics revealed more things. She looked very exhausted and was leaning against a stroller. She also had two other children and a teenager behind her. Assuming these were her kids, I mentally placed her in the lower class, because raising four kids really takes a toll on your income.
