Management Decision Making Process IntroductionThe aim of this paper is to find a decision making model using various resources. I will focus on identifying the steps of the decision-making model, how the model applied to a recent workplace decision, and the impact of critical thinking on the decision. Critical ThinkingThinking is the central process of how we transfer our thoughts. Our thought process is transferred either on paper or verbally, these methods help to transfer our thoughts clearly. Writing helps refine our thinking and enriches the mind with understanding that was not there before (Kirby and Goodpaster, 1999). Writing down your thoughts does not give an accurate picture of your thoughts, but writing will produce a foundation on which to build. As quoted in the reading material “Critical Thinking”: Writing can therefore reflect the mind; focus it into a state of clarity and present new awarenesses. Beyond these gifts, writing offers another rich and paradoxical gift: when we pour water into a glass, we empty the glass, but when we pour the thoughts of our mind onto paper, we fill our mind (Kirby & Goodpastor, 1999). ).Critical thinking involves assessing the situation, filtering choices, evaluating the results, and deciding whether one's conclusions make sense. A critical thinker must also tolerate some uncertainty and be patient to accept that not all answers come at once. Every day, people must make judgments, classify ideas, follow logic, and engage in reasoning to solve problems. Being able to think critically will improve one's reasoning and problem-solving skills. The nature of logic has a lot to do with the reasoning of an individual's thinking - how an individual perceives or derives an hypothesis or decision. Decision-Making Model After studying several decision-making models, the model that is closely related to the action plan has recently been used in the workplace is the Seven-Step Decision-Making Model.
