Cognition is a process that not only involves thinking quickly and making risky decisions, but also includes vocabulary skill, critical thinking, analysis of data, problem solving and emotion recognition. For example: Vocabulary skills typically peak at age 60. The language is interesting but not easy to learn. It's not a problem to learn a word, you can learn it for one or two seconds. However, when we learn 10, 100, 1,000 or more words, it's a really big deal. One of the skills that improves with age is critical thinking, which is a very important skill in all respects. Critical thinking depends on each person because each of us has different knowledge, background, experience and thinking ability, but this skill can be developed if people focus on it more. Critical thinking typically peaks in the 60s or early 70s, as do analysis and problem solving (Jenna Birch, 2015). As people age, their cognition is considered to change slowly and gradually. Therefore, to compensate for their shortage, they use their critical thinking, problem-solving skills… to strategize, carefully make a plan, look at different aspects to make decisions that are mostly fair and effective. If there is brain decline, they are definitely unable to do these complicated things.
