Essay / Analysis of Mark Zuckerberg's character in The Social...
It's a film that rightly makes consumers hesitant to waste their hard-earned money at the box office - for fear of having to endure such trail of ridicule. At no point is American Ultra clever or witty. It tries to be cute, but only condescends, although that was going to be part of the territory from the start once Jessie Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart landed the lead roles. Certainly, they are both talented in their own right, although rarely on a scale worth measuring (a statement that will remain true, even despite Eisenberg's upcoming role as Lex Luthor). Ultimately, American Ultra is a mediocre and embarrassing attempt at a spy film - and because of its stoner tendencies, it will completely disinterest potential moviegoers (unless you're a stone). American Ultra is such a miserable concoction that it joins the conversation as perhaps the worst movie in history.
