Over time, it appears that rights continue to become more and more important to American citizens. Thirty years ago, no one would have imagined that same-sex marriage would be legalized, and based on current events, it seems that public opinion will be shocked once again. California started the same-sex marriage wave just as Colorado started the marijuana tide. Marijuana stores have opened virtually everywhere in Colorado and Washington state as the industry experiences rapid growth. This has even allowed too many businesses to grow in California, where cannabis has not been legalized. Marijuana can be used as a health tool, aside from its recreational use. It can help people suffering from incurable forms of painful illnesses. With the addition of marijuana to the American economy, it becomes a new variable in our economy's ability to thrive. With this new industry, the labor force increased due to the addition of many new jobs to the American workforce.
