Steven Dietz's play “God's Country” presents a full range of racial hatred. The play follows the true story of a Nazi-like white supremacist group that operated in the United States in the 1980s. The group participated in various crimes such as theft and counterfeiting in order to raise money for their objectives and projects. The Order planned numerous assassinations of prominent Jewish public figures. However, several members of the Order were ultimately convicted of the murder of Alan Berg, a Jewish radio show host from Denver, who becomes the focus of the play. The full spectrum of racial hatred in this play is presented to the audience by moving from the intense interactions between Order members and their families, to Order ceremonies and actual transcripts of courtroom interrogations. The play unfolds in an increasingly intense montage of scenes that lead to the conviction of nine members of the Order. A little research reveals that many of the members depicted in the play are still serving prison sentences today.
