Essay / The relationship between globalization and peace
Globalization is conceptualized analytically as a global market of instruments in which everything, like the lingua franca, is common: culture, communication, transport. Globalization is then analyzed with reference to peace and conflict. A starting point is the observation that globalization requires peace and pacified environments, while peace does not depend on globalization. The polysemy of peace is generated by the peace of tradition and modernity and by the peace of goods and services. In terms of practical relationships, how these different conceptions of peace relate to ultimate and intermediate values plays a key role. The range of conceptions of peace is applied to a model of four categories of national society and each of these categories is related to another, since these reciprocal relations are the generative condition of world globalization. The result of the comparison is that globalization produces conflicts because the different conceptions of peace that prevail in each society are incapable of entering into dialogue with each other. In the real world, contemporary globalization is made possible and effective by a series of drivers (political and military centers and peacemaking centers – international organizations), control functions (individuals, organizations, public opinion, a “multitude” » world creator) and instruments (reconciliation, negotiation, tendency in relationships to make intermediate values prevail over ultimate values). On the positive side, globalization has paved the way for economic interdependence between states, fostered financial and information flows, increased the interconnectedness of societies (both economic and cultural), and strengthened the interdependence of states. These are relatively superficial accounts of globalization. What lies beneath the surface is criminal globalization. And this is marked by marginalization, money laundering, biochemical wars, terrorism, illegal arms trade, human trafficking, drug trafficking, smuggling of goods, cybercrime, etc. Often, the involvement of young people (who are vulnerable given their adaptable transition) (age) in such activities exacerbates problems related to the negative aspects of globalization. Young minds, compared to people of other age groups, are much more receptive to social transformations and a new ideology emerges. In this context, it becomes crucial to realize that the enormous opportunities offered by today's youth can be harnessed for the cause of promoting international peace. There remains enormous opportunity to use the energy of young people to establish peace at the international level. The promotion of international peace, which is one of the objectives of the United Nations, as stated in its preamble, can be achieved more effectively by mobilized and motivated youth. Sincere efforts in this direction can prove to be a solid peace model for achieving international peace using the energy of youth combined with the forces and agencies of globalization..
