Essay / How can you trust someone? - 1230
Sariah DurrantHow can you trust someone? An autobiographical accountI felt like my heart had been ripped out of my chest and my lungs were torn to ribbons. I stared in shock at the pathetic little screen of my cell phone as it delivered the message that changed my life forever. I guess I always knew what was going to happen. Humans cannot be trusted, no matter what they tell you or how they act. They always smile and lie through their teeth, then turn around and stab you in the back. You think people might change or that they are different and won't hurt you, but you are wrong. No matter how hard you try, every person on this planet can hurt you. And there's nothing you can do to stop it. In reality, I had started to believe what I was told and what I myself thought was so ignorant. It all started at eighth grade graduation. Well, to be honest, it all started in seventh grade when I finally let my guard down and let my heart get taken over by a scheming stranger. I was a little more than casually interested in this silly young boy and I understand now that it was a mistake I will never make again. All my affections were taken and crushed by a rude, snotty teenager who was not to be trusted. There is only one thing I have learned that is true about every person I meet. They all lie. They tell you that they will be there for you, that they will be your friend, or that they will never give up on you. It's disgusting, all these vile, horrible deceptions, not a word that any of them claim to be true. It's all nice and exciting when you think you've finally met the one person who "would never do that to you", but it only makes things worse when they...... middle of paper.. .... that through this experience, there are people who are truly there for you and who will stay and help you through your trials. Some people believe that it takes many friends to feel loved, but I have discovered that I only need one friend to appreciate the beauty of friendship and the wonderful complexity of life. I learned that one word, one smile, one person can change your entire outlook on life. You really only need one friend to help you through all your problems. The joy that can be found in a simple friendship is absolutely astonishing. The best thing about this experience is the very fact that I will always remember it throughout my life and it can be applied to so many things that will most likely happen. I will always remember that one person, one simple person, can make the most important difference in this entire universe..
