Imperialism is considered a practice of foreign domination in a context of hierarchy and subordination, which can eventually lead to the formation of an empire. Imperialism directly refers to the strengthening of military power and superiority. Back when developed countries were colonizing less developed countries, around the 1870s, the era of imperialism began. Referring to the time when countries like the United States, Germany, and Japan began employing imperialist doctrines for their governance, even though imperialist tendencies had existed for centuries. Even before imperialism, there was mercantilism and colonialism, which consisted of an extension of a nation's sovereignty over territory and people outside its own borders, to facilitate economic domination over their resources, their work and their markets. Without forgetting the arrival of traders, settlers and the establishment of governance systems which reinforced the “peripheral” status of the colonies. (PowerPoint source). There are also different phases of imperialism, there is high imperialism, which corresponds to the industrial revolution, and the second phase includes the use of new industrial power, creating a high level of rivalry between high industrial powers . Imperial powers would ally and focus their efforts on securing territory, thereby creating a new form of power, imperialism being an imposition. Asia produces the majority of all goods in the world, transitioning from an agrarian to an industrial economy through a surplus, which can then be used for industrial investment.
