    Rolls-RoyceThe automotive partners of Rolls-Royce Motor come from very different scenarios. In 1877, Charles Stewart Rolls was born into an elite British family and enjoyed a wealthy upbringing to the highest levels of society. At Trinity College, Cambridge, he studied mechanical engineering and, due to his innovative thinking and passion for cars, earned him the nicknames Petrolls or Dirty Rolls. However, Frederick Henry Royce was born in 1863 in Peterborough. He moved to London and began selling newspapers for WHSmith and Sons. At the age of 14, Royce worked with outstanding engineers at the Northern Railway in Peterborough and also studied algebra, engineering and French to enhance his education. Aside from the differences in their circumstances, they form an unexpected collaboration that was formed over a mutual interest in automobiles and engineering. Surprisingly, their association lasted only six years, they formed a car recognized as the elite car in the world. When Rolls Met RoyceOn May 4, 1904, Charles Rolls and Henry Royce met for the first time at the Midland Hotel in Manchester. Shareholders of FH Royce and company, Henry Edmunds and Claude Johnsn made this historic meeting. Ten Royce automobiles were manufactured and Johnson noticed that Rolls was frustrated simply selling foreign imports. One day when Rolls and Edmunds went to Manchester. On the trip to Manchester Rolls, Edmunds said he had to make an automobile with his name on it. After seeing the 10 Royce, Rolls thought he finally had the car he was looking for. Despite their different storylines, Charles and Henry entered into a partnership and soon after driving a car, Rolls decided to sell the cars under the name...... middle of paper ...... considered the best type of particular product. However, the Rolls-Royce icon itself represents a person's status. The two most well-known features that make Roll-Royce a Rolls are the Spirit of Ecstasy and the Rolls-Royce grille. The mascot on top of the car's hood is a woman with her hand spread behind her, known as the Spirit of Ecstasy or Flying Lady. .Previously it was used as a radiator cap, now it is used as a hood ornament. Charles Robinson Skyres designed the Spirit of Ecstasy and the mascot conveyed the spirit of Rolls-Royce, like speed with silence, absence of vibration, strange uses great energy and a beautiful living organism of superb elegance. No measuring instruments are used to make the Rolls-Royce grille. It's just done by hand and by eye. Each man takes a day to make the grille and later 5 hours are spent polishing the radiator..
