Essay / The History of Football - 638
History of FootballThe long history of the well-known sport, football, is a very important part of the patriotic culture of the United States of America. But this amazing sport didn't start in the United States. The Gridiron game originated in England. Football didn't start as the favorite American sport that everyone knows, it started with rugby. But this sport has not always been rugby. Rugby started like football...etc. etc. In football, players have positions, such as the quarterback, who throws the ball, or the wide receiver, who catches the ball from a very long distance, to help his team succeed on plays that it will take them a lot of time to understand, so she can execute them. These extraordinary players play their role according to what they are supposed to do. This is called teamwork. For example, the quarterback must practice his keen throwing skills day in and day out. And the wide receiver has to work on catching the ball so as not to spoil the play. So everyone on a field of several hundred yards has a role to play. Even the water boy. The coac has the toughest job of telling everyone what to do and calling the plays. Football was created in early 1823. One fine winter day, a young schoolboy named William Web Ellis was playing football with some of his friends. , as the school bell rang through the ice poles holding it up. So William had to return with all his friends to the tortuous course he was reluctantly about to take. But instead of walking away from the old beaten ball, Willaim was determined to score the last goal, to win the match. So he picked up the ball and walked towards the rusty post. The other children began to pile on Ellis, but they were no match for the strong-willed child. Every Monday since then,...... middle of log...... the story was -20 degrees F. The hottest game was 102 degrees F. A Super Bowl was canceled because that the entire stadium was completely flooded. to the stands. Football has come a long way between the years 1823 and 2014. It was difficult for some of the "founding fathers", but they managed to get through it. There were records, rules and above all history. This rigorous game is undoubtedly a true American sport.BibliographyThiesman Joe, Tarcy Prian, ed. Understanding Football Like a Pro, New York: Alpha Books 1997Long Howie, ed.
