It may surprise many, but reading school textbooks and talking about cultural diversity is not enough. Therefore, we must challenge ourselves to create methods when we become teachers so that we can help our future students be more aware of cultural diversity within classrooms. Going further, as a future teacher, taking this course helps me become more aware of students' cultures other than my own. In my interview with Ashley, she explained that she was a middle-class white girl who had always lived in the nicer parts of town. .
