    Background: William Shakespeare, born April 23, 1564, was a well-known playwright in English literature. William was born into a family of glove makers and attended high school, after high school he did not continue his education. He married at age 18 to a woman named Anne Hathaway. With Anne he had three children and around 1590 he left his family to go to London to work as an actor and begin as a playwright. Shakespeare's plays are known to many and many have their "best choice". Although one of Shakespeare's best is Macbeth, composed in late 1606 or early 1607, it is an extremely bloody tragedy and also short. Macbeth tells the story of a Scottish general who is told prophecies by three witches. One of We know he is noble because King Duncan declared him in Act 1, Scene 4, "noble Banquo." Banquo's philosophy is to wait for fate to happen, because at that time the only way his sons could become king was to do something wrong. For Banquo, there is no physical description although we know he has a son and was a soldier.Summary/Commentary:Act ⅠSummary: Macbeth had just helped in a battle and his return, so while riding with Banquo, they meet three strange sisters. The sisters tell them prophecies then disappear. Macbeth gets another title and tells his wife what the sisters told him. Lady Macbeth hatches a plan to further the prophecy, but Macbeth is hesitant and refuses to take part.
