    The Man Who Will Always Be RememberedThe man who changed America and the way everyone thought about electricity. Benjamin Franklin was a committed and hardworking child, a scientist who conducted numerous experiments, and a remarkable statesman who played an instrumental role during the American Revolution. Franklin was too poor to attend formal school, became interested in the study of electricity, and began his journey by being elected one of Pennsylvania's delegates. Before Franklin was a great man, it all started with his childhood. Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States (World of Earth Science). He was the 15th and youngest son in a family of 17 children. Franklin did not appreciate the convenience of high-end learning nor the ingrained wealth and status. Part of a large family with many siblings, Franklin was too poor to attend formal school growing up. In 1714, at age eight, Benjamin Franklin attended Boston Grammar School. This was his total of two years of formal schooling (historical world leaders). At age 10, Franklin worked in his father's workshop. Later he was linked to his brother, a printer, where he developed a taste for books (World of Earth Science). Franklin learned to be a demanding editor and a refined writer. Franklin was a prolific writer from the age of 12 until the year of his death (Historic World Leaders).Benjamin Franklin ran a newspaper, the Pennsylvania Gazette, in Philadelphia in 1726. For the next 25 years, the Franklin's printing company printed Poor Richard's Almanac every year. Franklin retired in 1748 from active business (Benjamin Franklin).
