IKEA sells its ready-to-assemble products at low prices 30 to 50% cheaper than its competitors. This also saves on assembly and transportation costs, since both were done by consumers. IKEA focuses on creating the surface of its products with high quality materials while using lower quality materials for the less visible part of the product. Additionally, IKEA stores are built based on Scandinavian design, which allows it to differentiate itself from other furniture retailers.
