Essay / forest ecosystems - 633
This selection was a real eye-opener about how we operate within our own ecosystem and the importance of our global ecosystems. In Perry's reading, chapter three focuses on the causes and effects of our ecosystems on our waking lives, the way we breathe, and the acquisition of resources from our forest. Additionally, this chapter describes what exactly a global ecosystem is and the different processes that occur within our ecosystems. The global ecosystem is one of the epicenters of human needs, society and our environment. A forest ecosystem is an area made up of several plants, trees and other organisms. The majority of forest ecosystem foundations are inhabited by animals. Forest has several definitions and meanings such as rainforest. The rainforest is primarily made up of trees, plants and animals that thrive on these resources. Additionally, some of the needs we have as human beings come from the forest. To understand how a forest ecosystem works, you have to analyze each portion from top to bottom. Each layer plays an important role when it comes to human needs, society and our environment. Forest ecosystems are fundamental to human development, well-being and society in various aspects. Human societies thrive largely on forest ecosystems, including timber, medical products, food and other products. After all, we must have warm months in winter. Wood from the forest helps maintain homes. Seafood and other animals are consumed by humans. Food is an essential need for maintaining life on Earth. Additionally, these items are essential to our economy, and maintaining a source of revenue for our government....... middle of paper ......or our daily lives can be taken away from us. Ecosystems help produce water, food and other essential resources. Additionally, as noted earlier, it plays an important role in the production of pharmaceutical products. What would we do as human beings without these needs? Contamination by diseases would be widespread, our water would be infiltrated with several chemicals harmful to human development. Additionally, we would suffer from endless amounts of droughts and floods that would wipe out many hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of our population. This poses a threat and scares me. I strongly believe that we should take care of ecosystems and allow them to function on their natural resources, without implementing other services. The forest counts on us, just as much as we count on the forest. Save the planet and be careful about our use of resources.
