    The New York Times' coverage of the HolocaustOne newspaper was more influential than any other newspaper during this period. The New York Times was the leading wartime newspaper. Their lack of media coverage influenced the media coverage of other newspapers (Max Frankel). The years of the Holocaust were an experience that people will never forget. Everyone is involved, including those who suffered in Eastern Europe as well as those who were informed and those who were under-informed, as well as the billions of lives living and learning today. During the Holocaust era (1933-1945), the New York Times under-informed and blinded the American public to events taking place in Eastern Europe; their negligence impacted the Holocaust because America could have done more to stop the atrocities. Emphasize importance In a newspaper, the most important news is normally published on the front page, except during the Holocaust. Because the Times did not publish the stories on the front page of the newspaper and instead "hid" them within the pages, it was difficult for Americans to find the facts and understand their importance (Leff 51). The Times published 1,147 articles, averaging about seventeen articles per month (Leff 52). In six years, the Times published only six articles mentioning Hitler's target; the Jewish race. The New York Times was the primary source of wartime news. When they neglected the events of the Holocaust, it also affected the judgment of other sources of information (Max Frankel). Even when U.S. troops liberated the Buchenwald and Dachau concentration camps, the stories still did not make headlines or headlines for people. still did not believe in the reliability of the stories (Leff 52).
