    In 2012, India contributed 5.8% of the total foreign direct investment in the UAE, making it the second largest foreign investor (“ United Arab Emirates"). Additionally, Indians are one of the major real estate investors in the UAE. In 2015, Indians invested 18.12 billion dirhams in real estate in the United Arab Emirates (“What Makes Indian”). Foreign direct investment in the UAE has played a vital role in maintaining the stability of the economy during times of market fluctuations. As a result, GDP grew by 4.6% in 2014 (John “UAE Draws”). Although it is difficult to say how much of this increase in GDP is directly due to India or Indian immigrants, we can infer that they are responsible for much of it since they are the second largest foreign investor in the world.
