    There have been many incidents of violence in schools, including many tragic school shootings. Columbine, Virginia Tech and Sandy Hooks Elementary were among the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history. Many violence prevention programs have been created and used to prevent such acts. The most widely used prevention program is called the zero tolerance program. Other programs have been used, but have they been successful? School problems and bullying are problems linked to school violence, but some of these problems can originate at home. Some school shootings and other acts of violence are not the work of a student at the school, sometimes they are the work of someone outside. Sandy Hooks school shooter wasn't a student. The school system sometimes becomes more concerned about the students' success in life and does not realize that there is a problem with the student and that they may need some mental attention. The media is always there when tragedy strikes. Are people trying to get media attention when they create a horrible act? Many schools have implemented intervention and prevention programs, but are they working? Schools are trying to prevent school violence due to horrific shootings that have occurred in the past. Some of the deadliest disasters have occurred in the past 15 years. Columbine is the most memorable high school shooting, Virginia Tech University was the deadliest college shooting, and Sandy Hooks is the most recent and tragic elementary school shooting. In these cases, some were caused by bullying, with other students experiencing poor mental health.
