Essay / Analysis of Tozer The Knowledge of the Holy - 1024
Why is it essential that Christians have faith in his wisdom? Tozer sublimely explains that God's wisdom is "infinite."[1] To elaborate further, there is nothing that God does not know; His knowledge is endless and the derivation of all truth.[2] Additionally, Tozer describes that all of God's actions are done with "perfect wisdom."[3] Continuing, the author raises an intriguing point in chapter eleven, namely that it is vital for Christians to have faith in wisdom.[4] As The Knowledge of the Holy One expresses, many people over time have questioned the legitimacy of the purity of God's wisdom, on the grounds that there is a considerable amount of evil in the world.[5] That being said, questioning God's wisdom in this way makes perfect sense and can be normal for believers, and sometimes even non-believers, but Tozer considers it debauchery.[6] To clarify, Tozer's view of God's wisdom is entirely based on faith. To explain better, no matter how dark and evil things may appear in this "fallen world", people must always have faith in God's "perfect wisdom" and realize that there is always a righteous reason to this.[7] Tozer goes on to explain that it is not enough to have faith in God's perfect wisdom, but that people must also exercise their faith through prayer.[8] He says this on the grounds that God has taken full responsibility for the eternal happiness of humanity, so that the least humanity can do is have faith in God's impeccable and endless wisdom.[9] The reader can easily interpret that Tozer had a very mystical and fervent view of Christ on the question of the "infinite" and "perfect" of God.”
