    Delinquency itself has been observed, studied, scrutinized, transformed into one form or another of statistical data and published for years. The question of “should girls’ delinquency be studied separately from boys’ delinquency?” we can only answer yes. Data on all aspects of crime should be studied, including age, race, crime type and gender. Without considering all aspects of delinquency based on gender, any conclusions would be biased, potentially leading to the application of inappropriate laws and/or treatment. To say that girls are different from boys is an understatement. Boys and girls are treated and raised differently when growing up in a patriarchal environment (Chesney-Lind and Sheldon.
