Women have struggled from a young age to try to advance in knowledge, but for some of them, gender roles have not allowed them to continue their studies. Many people think that there were no women scientists and engineers before modern times, but in reality women have been participating in these fields of study for over 3,000 years. Its known women have been involved in science-related activities for around 6,000 years. The names of many women are not known and most of them were from the Middle East; the first recorded names came from Egypt. Merit Ptah lived around 2700 BC, she was a chief physician. Another name is Tapputi-Belakellima, she was a chemical engineer who lived around 1200 BC. There is also evidence that women built two of the Seven Wonders structures of the ancient world.
