Essay / Internet and the World Wide Web - 2100
As technology continues to grow, communities around the world use devices differently depending on the capabilities they wish to give them. Some communities prefer simple Web services based on information entered by humans, while others favor advancements such that computers can generate new information on the Web. This shift in concept from Web 1.0 to Web 3.0 can affect the way different parts of society function in their daily activities. As technology allows us to access the web anywhere in the world due to the different devices society owns, the idea of accessing the Internet and the Web continues to be interchangeable. However, the concepts of Internet and Web are not the same. The Internet refers to all interconnected computer networks. This network infrastructure connects computers to each other on a global scale, allowing any of these computers to communicate with another computer, as long as it is connected to the Internet. That being said, the web is described as an information sharing model built on the Internet and also facilitating communication between people and computers. (Slideshow) Even if the difference between the Web and the Internet is distinguished, we can now understand the evolution from Web 1.0 to Web 3.0. To understand the direction the Web is taking as well as the impact it will have on different communities, it is necessary to define the different stages of the Web's evolution. Web 1.0 was a platform through which information could be published in a static form designed with text and images. It described an environment in which information and data were static and displayed without interaction between the information and the medium of paper they seek. Overall, religious groups will need to be more careful with their web pages and better adapt to sociocultural trends in society in order to keep the world intrigued by what is happening with their beliefs. In conclusion, the evolution of Web 1.0 and Web 3.0 has brought radical changes to the way our society produces and uses technology. Although some communities prefer the idea of a simple web navigation style that Web 1.0 brings, some communities accept the change that Web 3.0 will bring to the worldwide web. Certain communities, such as religions, should take advantage of these changes to influence their audience and inform interested Internet users about the different beliefs of their faith. This way they can gain more followers based on their beliefs and keep the community interested in what the religion is doing to impact the rest of the world..
