Pacific Rim is an easy movie to watch, which makes people think it's stupid, like me. The dialogue is terrible, but if that is stripped away you realize there is more to the film than meets the eye. When we analyze the film by only thinking about the images, we can consider it a good film. The acting and dialogue is weak, which is frustrating for many people, but if we only pay attention to the story and the characters, we can see a film with a lot of emotion and potential to be a great film . Raleigh Becket and his older brother have an interesting relationship. They have a bond that many would be jealous of and hope to have with their own siblings. They are pilots and are constantly “in each other’s heads”. When Raleigh's brother dies, he feels his fear and must deal with this feeling for the rest of his life. He doesn't want to be a Jaeger pilot anymore for fear of having to go through that again. He doesn't want anyone in his head anymore. So, when the world counts on him and he chooses his co-pilot, he is frustrated that his commander does not allow him to do so.....
