  • Essay / Separation In The Most Beautiful by Charles Eisenstein...

We keep trying to improve the world, but in reality we are damaging it. The more we try to improve human civilization, the more we destroy the planet. Even in today's world, we are still trying to resolve the problems of the past. It really gave me insight into the world. The author said: “The collapse of the old story is a kind of healing process…” (Eisenstein, 13). It made it clear that the world was recovering from the problems of the past. Inter-being: In this chapter, Charles Eisenstein introduces the concept of “Inter-being”. We are all connected in ways we can't imagine, but we feel more separated from each other. Every time someone feels pain, someone feels the same type of pain. Not physically, but in a way that the person can relate to. Even if the pain is not related to the person, they still feel hurt in some way. Some people try to hide their pain. They live as if nothing happened, but in reality they suffer. We see the pain changing us, but we act as if everything is normal. I really liked this chapter of the book. His explanation and examples of how we are all connected amazed me. Specifically, his use of pain as an example to show how we are all connected interested me.
