    Diabetes has become one of the leading causes of death in America, not only among adults, but also among children. Diabetes is considered one of the top five causes of death in the United States, ranking fourth. There are approximately 200 million people with diabetes, or approximately 8.3% of our population. More and more children in the United States are suffering from type 1 diabetes. Diabetes is defined as excess glucose (sugar) in the blood. Genetics and family history play an important role in the development of children with diabetes. Chronic diabetes is known to be considered type 1 and 2. In type 2 diabetes, the body's cells resist the effects of insulin and sugar begins to build up. blood circulation, causing sugar to rise to dangerous levels in the body. There are many causes, one being that the immune system destroys the cells in the pancreas, leaving little or no insulin at all. Insulin plays an important role in our bloodstream because it reduces the amount of sugar that enters our bloodstream. In children, insulin produces energy in muscles and tissues and reduces the amount of sugar entering the blood. Not everyone experiences the same symptoms, but some do, including increased thirst and frequent urination, blurred vision, and intense hunger. The most common symptom is numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, or both. Some complications in children are that many major organs are affected, including the heart. If blood levels are not controlled, it gradually develops into a long-term stage of diabetes and can end the life of a child or adult. Diabetes can lead to cardiovascular disease, cancer, kidney failure and brain complications. Anyway, fast food places where we can get food quickly, we go there because it's so convenient. Few Americans take the time to learn about health and its importance. They are not aware that half of the things they eat are dangerous for their health and can lead to many complications, one of the most threatening being diabetes.
