The two images will be combined and Figure 3.4.c shows the result. We can always have both lips in anger, sadness, surprise, normal and disgusted emotion. Whereas through fear and through happy emotion, we can then distinguish by saying that teeth often appear and there are more nifty edge pixels that will be detected in the mouth area. The eye and eyebrow region will separate further into the left and right side. The next step we need to consider is how to separate the eyes and eyebrows. The Prewitt filter will be used to find the global maxima. The output should have two global maxima, for example one global maximum is represented by eyebrows and another maximum is represented by eyes. The result is shown in Figure 3.5.
