Essay / Health systems in Finland, Afghanistan and Norway
The global health system as a whole is a very important issue. According to the WHO, a good health system provides quality services to everyone, when and where they need them. The exact configuration of services varies from country to country, but in all cases requires a stable financing mechanism, such as a well-trained and adequately paid workforce; reliable information on which to base decisions and policies; well-maintained facilities and logistics to provide quality medicines and healthcare (WHO a) In my opinion, that says it all. Good attentions to provide health care to the whole world. The concept of health is very complex. We all understand the meaning in different ways. The healthcare system in Finland is an inevitability in many ways. In this task, it is supposed to introduce health systems in three countries. One developed, one underdeveloped and our country. I chose to present, in addition to Finland, Afghanistan and Norway. The reason I chose Afghanistan is my current workplace. I work as a military nurse in the Finnish Defense Forces and I have many colleges (soldiers) who are currently in Afghanistan to protect peace and help in the reconstruction of Afghanistan. It will be an interesting trip to try to learn a little more about the healthcare system there. And why did I choose Norway? During my many years as a nurse, I have often heard that in Norway everything is better than here in Finland. So I searched the internet just to look for information and it seemed pretty interesting about the healthcare system that they have. It will be interesting to compare the health systems of Finland and Norway. So, will there be similarities or will there just be differences between countries2. IT...... middle of paper ...... fast, I think the majority of Finns still rely on the public health system. It remains affordable for everyone and works quite well. The primary (and/or public) health system should be accessible to everyone, everywhere. It is one of the basic needs of everyone. It is quite unfortunate that this is not the case, especially in underdeveloped countries. And many countries fall into this category. During this task, I was thinking about the healthcare system on both a global and local level. Underdeveloped countries find themselves in a situation that deserves our attention. I have to be grateful for the kind of healthcare system we have here in Finland. Even though sometimes we have to wait a bit for medical assistance and we don't always get what we expect from public health, think of those who greatly need it and who are not receiving any help due to the current situation in the country..
