Doctors, psychologists, biologists, engineers, and students can each mean something different when they talk about stress. A useful definition of stress is that it is a demand on the adaptive abilities of the mind and body. But what is professional stress? According to the current definition of the World Health Organization (WHO), occupational or work-related stress is the response people may have when faced with job demands and pressures that do not match their knowledge and their capacities and which test their ability to cope.
